The mansion is an object of cultural heritage and known as 'Semyonovsky Sloboda House, 18th-19th century'. In the local literature, the house is referred to as the mansion of merchants Stepan and Tikhon Shelayev. At the beginning of the 19th century, the Intercession Police Unit was located on this site. According to historians, the police part was based on the chambers of the beginning of the XVIII century, the remains of the once-standing mansion of Prince Alexander Menshikov, the favorite of Peter I. Merchants Shelaev simply transformed the police part into a mansion at one time. Behind the distinctive facades of the house in the Renaissance-Classical style of the late 19th century, fragments of interior decoration of the same time were preserved.
