It was built for Collegiate Assessor Novikov, based on older chambers from the late 18th century. In the second half of the 19th century, the estate was acquired by the merchant Davydov. In 1878, the estate was redesigned by architect Pyotr Vinogradov. The new design featured an eclectic style, blending elements of baroque, rococo, classicism, and empire. This historic appearance of the house has been preserved to the present day.
