The mansion is part of a group of early 20th-century apartment buildings owned by the industrialist and Old Believer Grigory Gorbunov. Designed by the Russian architect Olgerd G. Piotrovich, the development was originally intended for rental apartments. Before 1917, the complex housed a printing press for Old Believer literature. During the Soviet years, communal apartments were located there, and from 1971, the Kuybyshev District Court was based in the mansion. In 2017, the ensemble of tenement buildings was listed in the register of cultural heritage sites of regional significance.
