The mansion in the style of classicism is an outbuilding of the Muravyov-Apostolov city estate. The estate was formed in 1803 by order of retired captain Pavel Yakovlev. From 1815 to 1826, Senator Ivan Muravyov-Apostol, whose sons participated in the Decembrist uprising of 1825, lived with his family in the estate. The wing was built in the late 18th century by architect Matvey Kazakov, who rebuilt the center of Moscow in the style of early classicism and Palladianism during the reign of Catherine II.
