The Yasenevo Estate is a federally significant cultural heritage site. In 1727, Yasenevo was inherited by Fyodor Lopukhin, the grandson of Peter I’s father-in-law. In the 1730s, he built one of Russia’s first grand estate courtyards, designed by architect Ivan Michurin. In the early 19th century, the estate passed to the Gagarin family. During their ownership, prominent princes and noblemen frequently visited, including the parents of Leo Tolstoy. After the Revolution, the house was abandoned. In 2007, superficial restoration work was carried out, but the interior remained empty. Nowadays, active restoration work is underway on the estate’s territory.
