The mansion was an outbuilding of the Princess Maria Petrovna Gagarina city estate. The estate had many buildings and occupied a vast territory between Bolshaya and Malaya Nikitsky streets. In 1861 the mansion ceased to be a part of the city estate, underwent several reconstructions and was expanded from the courtyard side. The building acquired its present appearance in 1993 after an extensive reconstruction. Currently, it is not an architectural sample.
