From 1833 to 1834 the mansion belonged to Decembrist Mikhail Orlov, who was a guest of Alexander Pushkin and Yevgeny Baratynsky. In the second half of the XIX century, the house and wings were converted into revenue houses, and in 1893 the building was rebuilt according to the project of architect Nisselson, who preserved the structure of the Empire era. In 1905, the owner Vladimirov decided to turn the house into a mansion for his family and invited architect Zharov, after which the appearance of the building did not change significantly.
