The young but already notable architectural bureau Verlab, with just over a year of work under its belt, has made a name for itself thanks to bold and vibrant projects at the intersection of fashion, design, and architecture. The team boldly experiments with forms and meanings, creating concepts for clothing, accessories, and interior items that become real hits. Suffice it to recall the sensational jackets styled after the domes of St. Basil's Cathedral, or the collection of outerwear inspired by the architecture of the Moscow Metro.
Verlab's new project has a symbolic name: “Stand Apart.” This is not just a play on words, but a conceptual collection of images inspired by Moscow's iconic mansions. One of the central and most expressive images is an outfit inspired by Arseny Morozov's house on Vozdvizhenka Street. This unique building combines elements of Art Nouveau and eclecticism and is designed in a Neo-Moorish style that is rare for the capital. The mansion's facade, richly decorated with carved patterns, comes to life in textiles: a top and skirt set repeats the relief of the stucco molding, transferring the architectural ornamentation to fabric.

The collection also featured understated luxury, for example, in a look inspired by Zinaida Morozova's mansion on Spiridonovka Street. Neo-Gothic architecture with its rhythmic repetition of shapes and details was reflected in a three-piece suit with thick fringe on the jacket.

Ryabushinsky's mansion on Malaya Nikitskaya Street was embodied in the most delicate and romantic image of the collection. Mosaic friezes with orchids form the basis of the pattern on a flowing blouse, while the beige Art Nouveau facades are given a modern interpretation in flared trousers, a knitted vest, and a chunky belt.

Some of the looks in the collection go beyond the everyday. For example, a skirt with a jacket decorated with accent metal epaulettes—this ensemble was inspired by Tsvetkov's red mansion on Prechistenka Street. Another look is inspired by Korobkova's house on Pyatnitskaya Street: a lilac dress with flowing sleeves requires “courage and inner freedom,” as noted in the comments to the bureau's post on Telegram.
