The one-story mansion with a basement and an entresol is located on Novaya Basmannaya Street in the Basmannyy district. The historic building features a facade in the classical style, decorated with white pilasters, window frames, and ornamental stucco. Inside, there is a mixed-use layout. The premises require cosmetic repairs. Central utility systems are installed. The electrical capacity is 40 kW. Behind a barrier on the adjacent territory, there is ground-level parking for 5 cars. There is an opportunity to create a summer veranda in the courtyard. The mansion is suitable for accommodating an office or a restaurant.

The mansion is situated on the 1st line of buildings along the busy Novaya Basmannaya Street with high pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Nearby there is Bauman Garden of Culture and Leisure. The area is surrounded by well-developed infrastructure with numerous theaters and churches. There is convenient access to the Garden Ring Road and Staraya Basmannaya Street. The Third Ring Road is an 8-minute drive away. The nearest metro station, Komsomolskaya, is a 9-minute walk away, while Krasnye Vorota Metro Station can be reached in 12 minutes on foot.

In 1782, Countess Ekaterina P. Shuvalova acquired a plot of land in the Basmannaya Sloboda to establish an estate. In 1831, the property was transferred to Nikolay Vasilievich Levashov, a hero of the Patriotic War and a personal acquaintance of the Pushkin family. The Levashov boyar family began reconstructing the estate, and two one-story wings were built on the grounds. From 1833 to 1856, the writer Pyotr Y. Chaadayev lived in one of the wings. Because of the street's name, the author was known as the Basmannyy Philosopher. His apartment consisted of three rooms, and a literary salon was held there every Monday. It was in this very place that Chaadayev wrote one of his most famous works, "Apologia of a Madman". Today, the building is recognized as a regional cultural heritage site and is used for commercial purposes.
